College-Level Research: A Microcredential for Beginners Are you teaching an intro course with a research assignment and find that your students need support? First- and second-year students completing their first research project often feel lost, but you don't always have the time in your course schedule to invite a librarian to your class. Now, there's a solution.
Our fully online 90-minute asynchronous microcredential will fill in the gaps and ensure students are equipped with crucial beginner skills, such as: choosing and/or narrowing a topic; finding appropriate sources; evaluating those sources and synthesizing information; and, citing any information to give credit where it’s due.
Any participant who completes the module and passes the assessment will receive a certificate.

Spring 2025 - “Appalachian Innovation: Crafting the Future”
MU Libraries has issued a call for submissions for its 2025 art exhibit, which will be displayed in Drinko Library throughout the Spring 2025 semester.
The theme for the upcoming art exhibition is “Appalachian Innovation: Crafting the Future,” and members of the Marshall community and surrounding Appalachian community are invited to participate and express their visions of the future through art, poetry and craftsmanship.
Various forms of art are encouraged — from painting to sculpture to fibers to poetry and more — to express Appalachian identity and inspire dialogue about innovation and its role in shaping the region’s collective future.

The Cultural Corner at Drinko Library is a collaborative project between the English Language Institute (ELI), Marshall Libraries, the Office of Study Abroad, and Intercultural Affairs.
