About the agency

The National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities was created in 1965 and includes the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the Instititue of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), and the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities. These entities make grants to support the arts, humanities, libraries, and museums.
