Tools for Success - Teaching Online

This guide is for faculty members looking for tools that can help them be successful facilitators of online education. Specifically created during the COVID-19 crisis, the tools listed in this guide can be useful for anyone teaching distance courses.

 

CREATE ENGAGING CONTENT 


In addition to such Microsoft tools like PowerPoint that you're likely familiar with, the below resources can be found in your MU OneDrive / Microsoft Office 365 account (You may need to click on All Apps first.)

  • Teams: the hub for meetings and shared documents, Teams is great for group work with features like voting, files, and channels (will soon be housed inside Blackboard as a Tool.) Found in the Office 365 Suite and available to all Marshall Users, MS Teams is a great option for video meetings that features screen-sharing, chats, and more.   • Stream: a video creation and sharing platform with tons of features: add a quiz or form to a video; caption or transcribe content; live events; create channels; and much more.   • Sway: create interactive and dynamic presentations or webpages, by starting blank or using existing content.
