Communication Studies: Books

This guide is intended as a starting point for research in U.S. communications at Marshall University. It includes both primary and secondary materials, in both print and electronic formats.

Searching for Books

You can locate books through the MU Libraries online catalog.  Search by keyword, subject, author, or title.  The results will show print books, e-books, and journals.

When searching, you can use subject terms or keywords.  Keywords may provide more results but subject terms may lead to more accurate results.  If you are not sure about what strategy is best simple Ask A Librarian.

If there is a book that you want that we don't own, you can easily request it from EZ Borrow which is a free service where academic libraries in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and West Viirginia loan books to users of member libraries.  Books are delivered to the library and you will be notified through email when the items are available.  Plan ahead because it takes 3-5 business days for books to arrive.
