About Search Boxes

MU Library Catalog - contains all of the books, journals, newspapers, DVDs, CDs, and some Ebook titles that Marshall owns. Does NOT search within individual journals for article titles, does not include all Ebooks.

MU Summon - considered the "Google" of Marshall library materials. Searches all of the above but also includes individual articles (full text and citation only). Can be overwhelming!! Make sure to narrow down your search using the options available.

Ebooks

Library of Congress Subject Headings

Locate books, ebooks, and materials in Marshall University libraries using the library catalog. Search by keyword, title, author, subject, Library of Congress (LC) call #, dewey #, Goverment Doc #, or ISBN/ISSN.

The Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH)

LCSH were developed and are maintained by the U.S. Library of Congress (LOC). LCSH is a controlled vocabulary used for indexing, cataloging, and searching for bibliographic records in library catalogs and electronic databases. The following Library of Congress Subject Headings are examples of subject terms that can be used when searching the catalog by Subject Heading
