Most e-books purchased by Marshall University Libraries are incorporated into the Catalog.
However, due to the nature of database packages, many more can be found in our Summon discovery service product and in various database collections such as the ones listed below. (Several of these are also listed on the Databases & Electronic Resources tab.)
Many e-books can be downloaded to portable devices and are easily searchable. E-books can be accessed on and off campus and they have the additional benefits of never being misplaced, overdue, or damaged. This is a highly convenient format.
Use JStor All Content tab to search for open access and free content via JSTOR. JStor is multidisciplinary and contains books, journals, reports, and primary resources. The search page automatically defaults to return only content our users can access unless one changes the filter to include “everything” in the Access Type section of the left column of filters.
To find e-books Marshall owns or has access to, you can search the MU Catalog in the same way you search for print items. However, you can limit your search to e-book items only by using the advanced search option as seen below.
