Links Not Working? Steps for Accessing these (and other) eBooks Online

  1. Login to MyMU
  2. Click on the Libraries icon from the Quick Links menu  MyMU Quick Links icon for Libraries
  3. Scroll to the Start Your Research Here section
  4. Copy+Paste into the search box the title of whatever book, article, etc. that you're looking for
  5. From the results page, click on the view options:
    1. For eBooks and other digitized materials, you'll see one or all of the following buttons and can use any of them: "Full Text Online," "Article Page," or "PDF".
    2. For print books or other physical materials, you'll see a library location and call number.
  6. For digitized materials, clicking on any of the view options should provide instant access to that item.
    1. Sometimes, the PDF opens immediately.
    2. Sometimes, an intermediary page appears and we have to click View again.
    3. Sometimes, we only see the Abstract, Summary, or Table of Contents, and have to look for and click on a new View option. This is usually a button or link along the sides of the page or top or bottom of the page.

A Note About Creating Accounts - Reading Online versus Downloading

  • The eBooks listed on this page are provided in a database. You access the database via your MU credentials.
  • Most databases have useful tools, such as highlighting or taking notes or using a bookmark.
  • However, these tools are only beneficial if you create an account within the database, and, if you remember to login to that account each time you need to read the book.
  • This is separate and different from your MU account (however: if you create a database account using your MU username and password, it makes things easier!)

Related: Reading Online versus Downloading

  • If you don't want to download a book to your device, preferring instead to save space, then you definitely want to create an account in that database, and make sure you login each time to keep track of your reading progress.

Below is a tutorial using the ProQuest database called eBook Central to help you visualize this process:
