Digital Creation Studios: Home

This guide will provide all the prerequisite and training information patrons need to book and successfully create in the Digital Creation Studio

Welcome to the Marshall Libraries Digital Creation Studio (DCS)! Opening in Fall 2024, the DCS will provide Marshall students, faculty, staff, and the wider community with access to a dedicated digital studio on campus. Whether you're launching a podcast, completing an assignment, or pursuing other projects, the DCS is here to support all your video and audio production needs!

 

Rules for Using the Space

  • The Digital Creation Studio is available for use by the following… 

    • Marshall University Faculty, Staff, & Students 
    • Community Members (non-university associated individuals) age 18 and over 

      • Minors must have a registered adult schedule the reservation and be present to use the space 

  • All users must complete the required training before staff approve ANY studio reservations. 
    • A link to the required training will be provided in the system email once you place your reservation or can be found on our website. 
    • It can also be found under the "Before You Book" tab.
  • Space Participants
    • We recommend that everyone participating in your reservation take the required training to familiarize themselves with the process and equipment. 
    • All users will be required to show MUID or picture ID (such as driver’s license or state ID) during check in 

    • Only the user making the reservation will be granted access to the space 

    • If a user is unable to be present for their reservation, the user can ask to transfer the reservation under a different person. 

  • Reservations 

    • Reservations can be made in 30-minute increments with a minimum time of 60 minutes (1 hour) up to a maximum of 180 minutes (3 hours) 
    • You can have up to 4 reservations for the DCC Studio per week. 

    • If you require an extension for a special project, please contact us ahead of time. 
    • Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. 

  • To allow time for users to take or review training for the DCC Studio space and equipment, and for staff to schedule an assistant to be available during the reservation (especially for newer users) 

  • Missed Reservations 

    • If you fail to cancel a reservation, the system will not “refund” that time for a future reservation later in the month.   
    • You can cancel your reservation by following the link in your confirmation email, or contacting us 
  • DAMAGES or MISSING Equipment 

    • The user who has made the reservation is responsible for the equipment and space during their reservation, as well as the actions of anyone they allow to accompany them during their reservation. 
    • Damage to the equipment or space will be billed to the user. 

Location

We are located on the second floor of Marshall's Drinko Library. Room 203, past the bathrooms on the east side of the building.
