Session #1 Title: Can you Master the Academic Domain? Exploring Scholarly Research, Writing, and Publishing
Session Description: In this workshop, facilitators will guide participants through three elements of academic writing: research, writing, and publishing. For the research process, we’ll discuss assessing information, using that information appropriately, and working with a librarian throughout the process. Then, our writing section will take attendees from brainstorming to drafting and revision along the way to analyze journal genre expectations. We’ll conclude with publishing, where attendees will learn the different types of publishers, how to survive the submission process, and understand their post-publication rights as authors.
