A virtual "library" where our online materials are kept.
Think of Summon like the middle-man between you and our library materials. This is similar to how Google is the middle-man between you and the world's websites. While Summon will retrieve tons of results about your topic from all of our database, a single database will retrieve a much smaller number of results. Because our databases are structured on subjects, or disciplines, they may have a smaller number of results, but sometimes a much more relevant number of results.
...and none are "better" than others. It simply depends on how you learned, what your preferences are, and what your assignment is requiring of you.
Then use our Special Collections resources, found online at https://www.marshall.edu/special-collections/. Simply click on the Search Special Collections link from that page.
Visit the Information Delivery Services page to request a book, article, DVD, or other materials from another university library in the event that Marshall Libraries can't provide access.
