The MUSOM Health Sciences Library has agreements with the publishers listed here to let SOM authors publish their articles at little or no cost. The library's subscriptions cover all or part of the Article Processing Charge (APC). Read and Publish or Transformative Agreements allow libraries and publishers to move towards open access publishing.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!
To Qualify for Open Access Publishing Under MU Agreements:
- Only journals and publishers listed on this page are covered by our APC agreements. If it’s not listed, we do NOT have an agreement.
- It is important to read each journal/publisher's rules for open access on this web page.
- It is the AUTHOR'S RESPONSIBILITY to determine whether a journal is covered.
- The corresponding author must be a current Marshall University School of Medicine employee or student in the United States.
- The corresponding author should not plan to leave the organization within 12 months of article submission, as eligibility depends on current affiliation.
- You must use your Marshall University email address (marshall.edu) when submitting.
- Using a personal or non-MU email will disqualify your article from Open Access coverage, and you may be responsible for the fees.
- Research must be done at or in conjunction with the Marshall University School of Medicine, which includes students, residents, fellows, and academic and clinical faculty.
- Research done at another institution does not qualify.
- These agreements do not cover fees for color illustrations, extra pages, or other charges not related to APCs.
Failure to meet these requirements will lead to automatic denial of MU APCs and you, as the corresponding author, will be responsible for paying the APC.
